Who we are
ODERSA (Organisation pour le Développement de l’Éducation, des Ressources et des Savoirs Accessibles) is a French nonprofit association (loi 1901), run entirely by volunteers. The association teaches everyone how to handle information, digital life, their own health and their own rights: online first, and on the ground when it helps.

The name
Four words that commit us
ODERSA stands for Organisation pour le Développement de l’Éducation, des Ressources et des Savoirs Accessibles: French for “Organization for the Development of Accessible Education, Resources, and Knowledge”. Every word in the name is a choice. “Development” means building things that last, not one-off operations. “Resources” and “Knowledge” mean concrete tools you can pick up, photocopy, and reuse, not statements of intent. “Accessible” means free, available in several languages, usable with no account and no conditions, for everyone. In everyday use, the association simply goes by ODERSA.

Resources that teach you how to do things
We design and publish free educational sites: no account, no ads, no data collection, usable on a phone just as well as in a computer room. Every resource is published under an open CC BY 4.0 license, so teachers and activity leaders can make it their own without asking our permission. Our first resource shows what that standard means in practice: it launched in 7 languages, with its own classroom guide, a printable workshop booklet, and data downloadable in an open format.
Occasional activities on the ground
When a host organization asks and it makes sense, we run something in person: a workshop, a session, some support. Always built together with the host, who knows its own audience and sets the frame; always free for participants; always followed by a report on what was done and learned. Online work gives reach; in-person work gives depth: both serve the same mission.

The association is declared under RNA number W751284255. The receipt is issued on 15 May.
Published in the Journal officiel
The association’s creation appears in the Journal officiel des associations (JOAFE, announcement no. 1176): its existence becomes public and legally binding.

Free, no strings attached
No paid activity, no gated content, nothing asked in return from the people we serve.
Open by default
Content and data published under CC BY 4.0: reuse, adapt, translate, all of it allowed with a simple credit.
Verifiable rigor
No figures you cannot check, no decorative promises. What we state can be recounted; what we announce exists.
Governance
Run simply, and by volunteers
The association is chaired by Mael Garbe, a volunteer. It has no employees: its members, all volunteers, build what the association publishes, write and proofread the content, check the sources, keep the accounts and reply to enquiries. Decisions on the statutes are taken at the general meeting and minuted. This simplicity is a choice: the resources go to the work.
It comes with a trade-off we accept: being accountable. The figures we publish can be recounted by anyone, the way our content is made is documented step by step, and supporters are named publicly. An association that asks for trust should start by making itself verifiable.
Research
A research division
Alongside its programmes and its actions, ODERSA carries out research work. It is run by a dedicated division, ODERSA Research, whose subject is verifiable, massively multilingual natural language generation, in the service of free education. Led by Mael Garbe (ORCID 0009-0003-3592-3681), the division publishes its pages, its measurements and its limits at research.odersa.org.
